Bambelela Horse Safaris

The lodge named Thandolwami Bushlodge is located 30 minutes outside of Hoedspruit town on a 70 hectares property with a variety of plane game such as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, eland, ostrich, nyala, impala, duyker and sables. Our horses are running free with the animals over the property. There are stables to feed and tack up the horses. At the moment we have 7 amazing horses with heights from 14 hands – 17hands.

We are welcoming volunteers from age 18-70 in small groups of 4-5. You must be an intermediate, experienced or advanced rider. We are not taking beginner or novice riders. Weight limit is 80 kg.

Bambelela Horse Safaris offers Volunteer Horse Safari experiences with a minimum stay of 2 weeks, Mondays arrival and departure. Our staff will pick you up from Eastgate Airport (Hoedspruit) that is located 45 minutes from the lodge. After collecting at the airport, we go to Hoedspruit town where everyone can do their own shopping (for snacks or other drinks that are not included). There is also an ATM to withdraw cash. During the week volunteers are always welcome to go to town with staff if we have to do shopping for the lodge.

The lodge has free unlimited WIFI and there is cell phone signal around the lodge. We are running on a solar system and have battery’s so in case of load shedding we always have electricity.
